The ring finger on the left hand has been the location for a wedding band for a long time. Stemming from a Tudor tradition from the 16th-century, the left-handed ring finger was believed that it was connected to the heart by a vein. Wearing a ring on that finger signified that the wearer had a “claim to their heart” in the form of a fiancé or a husband. It has stuck over time to be the place we wear our wedding rings.
